Hi, I’m Ruslan Kedik, Ottawa’s Leading Weight Loss Coach and Expert
As of 2025, I’m celebrating two decades of helping people transform their lives through sustainable weight loss. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of clients toward healthier, happier lives. But in all honesty, this journey has been just as transformative for me as it has been for them.
20 Years of Evolution
The weight loss industry hasn’t changed at all over the past two decades, they keep pushing the same old ‘solutions’ which seldom work. This forced me to grow and to commit to understanding what truly drives lasting results for my clients—and what doesn’t.
My main objective has always been simple: to help clients achieve sustainable weight loss—the kind that lasts for life.
A Breakthrough in My Approach
Over the last 7 years, I’ve made significant breakthroughs in my approach to weight loss. Today, I see the industry as part of the problem, not the solution. Far too often, weight loss programs treat the symptoms, not the root cause of obesity.
The prevailing belief in the industry is that weight problems are simply a result of overeating and under-exercising. So, what do we do? We throw restrictive diets and intense workout routines at people, only to watch them fail time and time again.
I couldn’t accept this any longer. Watching my clients struggle to not only reach their goals but to maintain them, was heartbreaking. Even worse, I noticed a pattern of clients hitting their target weight, only to fall back into old habits shortly after.
This frustration, coupled with my own personal battle to maintain a 75lb weight loss, led me to search for a solution beyond the typical diet-and-exercise approach.
The Real Cause of Overeating
It turns out, the reason we overeat isn’t as simple as “eating too much food.” Most of the time, overeating isn’t driven by our physical hunger—it’s driven by our emotional and mental needs. This is something that diets can never truly address.
Diets focus on the physical plane: restricting food, counting calories, or increasing exercise. But the vast majority of overeating is driven by emotional and mental triggers, which are deeply ingrained in our subconscious minds. This is why diets fail to bring lasting results.
To truly tackle the problem, we need to address it at the emotional level, not just the physical one. This is where my approach diverges from the traditional weight loss methods.
A New Way Forward: The Psychology of Personal Change
For true, sustainable weight loss, we need to understand the psychology of personal change. This is the key to breaking the cycle of emotional eating and creating a healthier relationship with food, body image, and exercise.
In my practice, I no longer see diet and exercise as the ultimate solutions. Instead, they are tools—strategies that complement the real work: rewiring emotional triggers and changing deep-rooted behaviors.
When we work together, we focus on addressing the psychological drivers of your weight struggles. From there, we can build lasting habits and a mindset that supports long-term success.
